Volunteers and Marshalls Wanted

The Beltane Festival has come round again and preparations are well underway. We are all looking forward to hopefully a sunny, bright and safe Beltane Festival.

Our committee is extremely dedicated and hard working and putting on these events also means at times we get stretched and we need to rely on the great volunteers we have in our community.

Are you able to help as a volunteer and/or help with street collections and marshal support?

We particularly need support for the Wednesday evening Rideout, the Thursday Novice Ride, and the Saturday Grand Parade.

We want to ensure we can put on ‘the’ greatest festival in the Borders, so if they can spare some time please DM our Facebook page and we will share the WhatsApp group link where you can let us know when you can volunteer/marshall.

Thank you!

Happy Lanimers Day to everyone in Lanark! Sending our best wishes to this year’s Lord Cornet, Edward Pringle!

Decorated Shops and Houses

The committee is hopeful that as many as possible will take part in the decorated shops and houses competitions and turn the town red and white. There are two separate competitions which greatly enhance the town during Beltane. As ever, the Best Decorated Shop or Business will be awarded the Maharaj Kumar Challenge Shield, while the winners of the House Decoration will receive the Community Council Cup.

My Beltane Booklet

This year, the committee have introduced a new initiative, where every P3 child at the town’s Primary Schools will receive a booklet to mark their first involvement in the crowning ceremony. We hope they have a fantastic Beltane 2025.

West Linton Installation

Tonight Cornet Elect Jamie and his Lass Caitlin were joined by their supporters, together with our Beltane Queen Annie, the Warden of Neidpath Elect Christina Elder, and the Beltane Chairman Lorna Evans, enjoying representing Peebles at the West Linton Installation.
