Notice of Road Closures and Parking Restrictions

Fancy Dress Parade – Friday 19th June 2026

Road Closures

  • Port Brae and Tweed Green will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 18:00 and 19:45 for the judging of the fancy dress parade.

Alternative Route

  • Tweed Bridge, High Street and Tweed Brae until 19:00 and then follow alternative route for High Street closure.
  • High Street will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 19:00 and 21:30.

Alternative Route

  • Westbound – Edinburgh Road, March Street, Montgomery Place, Cross Street, Elcho Street Brae and Old Town to point of closure.
  • Eastbound – Young Street, Rosetta Road, March Street and Edinburgh Road to re-join A72.
  • North/South – Traffic from the south side of the town will be diverted via Tweed Bridge, Cuddy Bridge and Old Town until parade enters the High Street. Thereafter diversion will be via Port Brae, Tweed Green and Tweed Brae.

Suspension of One-Way Order

The one-way orders will be suspended on the following roads on the 19th June 2026 between the hours of 18:00 and 21:30.

  • Port Brae – from Tweed Bridge to Tweed Green
  • Tweed Green – from Port Brae to Tweed Brae
  • Northgate

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on the 19th June 2026 between the hours of 19:00 and 22:00. These closures will only come into effect at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform, marshal or appropriate signing is in place.

  • Tweed Brae
  • Eastgate
  • Cuddy Bridge
  • Old Town
  • Young Street
  • Rosetta Road – from Young Street to March Street
  • March Street
  • Edinburgh Road – from March Street to Dean Park
  • Dean Park
  • Northgate

Parking Restrictions

Parking will be prohibited on the following roads between the hours of 14:00 and 21:30 on Friday 19th June 2026.

  • High Street – from Tweed Bridge / Cuddy Bridge to Eastgate.
  • Eastgate – from High Street to Innerleithen Road.
  • Innerleithen Road – from Eastgate to Edinburgh Road roundabout. • Tweed Bridge,
  • March Street – from Rosetta Road to Edinburgh Road.
  • Old Town – from Elcho Street Brae to Young Street.
  • Young Street – from East side – from Old Town to Rosetta Road.
  • Rosetta Road – from Young Street to March Street.
  • Elcho Street Brae.
  • Northgate – from Eastgate to Dean Park.

Parking will be prohibited on the following roads between the hours of 12:00 on Friday 19th June 2026 and 21:00 on Saturday 20th June 2025.

  • Port Brae
  • Tweed Green – from Port Brae to Tweed Brae.

For a couple of years now they’ve supplied breakfast for our volunteer drivers for our Your Ford Centre Harrison’s Official Cars and Peter Grandison, as well as our carriage drivers who come all the way up from Manchester.

It’s a wrap for another year! The curtain came down on Beltane 2026 with an excellent Beating Retreat delivered by Peebles Burgh Silver Band and Tweedvale (Innerleithen) Pipe Band last night.
