Notice of Road Closures and Parking Restrictions

Riding of the Marches – Wednesday 17th June 2026

Road Closures South of Tweed

  • Kingsmeadows Car Park will be closed to vehicular traffic on Wednesday 17th June 2026 between the hours of 12:00 and 23:00.
  • B7062 Kingsmeadows Road – from junction with Springhill to its junction with Glensax Road on Wednesday 17th June 2026 between the hours of 16:00 and 18:00.

Alternative Route

  • EASTBOUND – Springhill Road, Glen Road and Glensax Road to point of closure
  • WESTBOUND – the above in reverse

Road Closures North of Tweed

  • High Street, Peebles will be closed to vehicular traffic on Wednesday 17th June 2026 between the hours of 17:30 and 23:00.

Alternative Route

  • EASTBOUND – Young Street, Rosetta Road, March Street, Edinburgh Road, Innerleithen Road to point of closure.
  • WESTBOUND – Innerleithen Road, Edinburgh Road, March Street, Montgomery Place, Cross Street and Elcho Street Brae to point of closure.

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on the 17th June 2026 between the hours of 17:30 and 22:00. These will be rolling closures which will only come into effect as the procession passes and at such times when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform, marshal, or appropriate signing is in place.

  • Kingsmeadows Road – from the car park to Glensax Road
  • Glensax Road – from Kingsmeadows Road to Glen Road
  • Glen Road – from Glensax Road to its termination.
  • Bonnington Road – from the Water Works to Springhill Road
  • Springhill Road – from Bonnington Road to Tweed Bridge
  • Port Brae – from Tweed Bridge to Cuddy Bridge
  • Tweed Bridge – from Springhill Road to Cuddy Bridge
  • Cuddy Bridge – from Tweed Bridge to Old Town
  • Old Town – from Cuddy Bridge to Young Street
  • Young Street – from Old Town to Rosetta Road
  • Rosetta Road – from Young Street to Standalane
  • A72 – from Neidpath Castle to Neidpath Road
  • Neidpath Road – from A72 to Old Town
  • Old Town – from Neidpath Road to Young Street
  • Caledonian Road – from Tweed Bridge to Edderston Road
  • Edderston Road – from Caledonian Road to its termination
  • Southpark Industrial Estate
  • March Street – from Young Street to Edinburgh Road
  • Edinburgh Road – from March Street to Dalatho Street
  • Dalatho Street – from Edinburgh Road to its termination
  • Kingsland Square – from Electric Sub Station to Rosetta Road.

Suspension of One-Way Order

The one-way orders will be suspended on the following roads on the 17th June 2026 between the hours of 17:30 and 23:00

  • Port Brae – from Tweed Bridge to Tweed Green
  • Tweed Green – from Port Brae to Tweed Brae

Parking Restrictions

In addition, parking Restrictions will be in place for the following roads and we would ask that they are observed to allow the procession to pass safely:

  • Kingsmeadows Road (B7062) from Tweed Bridge to Glensax Road
  • Springhill Road from Tweed Bridge to Springwood Road
  • Tweed Bridge
  • High Street
  • Eastgate
  • Tweed Green
  • Old Town
  • Young Street
  • March Street
  • Montgomery Place
  • Cross Street
  • Elcho Street Brae

For a couple of years now they’ve supplied breakfast for our volunteer drivers for our Your Ford Centre Harrison’s Official Cars and Peter Grandison, as well as our carriage drivers who come all the way up from Manchester.

It’s a wrap for another year! The curtain came down on Beltane 2026 with an excellent Beating Retreat delivered by Peebles Burgh Silver Band and Tweedvale (Innerleithen) Pipe Band last night.
