Ian Patterson

Peebles March Riding and Beltane Queen Festival were saddened to learn of the recent passing of Ex-Cornet Ian Patterson. Ian was Cornet in 1962 and was supported by Ex-Cornets William Williamson and Robert Clapperton.

Ian retired from the Peebles branch of Boots the Chemist in 1996, having started there originally as a message boy at 14 years old.

Ian and his wife Lina had two children; Juliet who was a maid in 1982 and Chris who was First Courtier in 1986 and is a current member of the festival committee. Our thoughts are with Ian’s family at this time.

Ian’s funeral service will be held in St Joseph’s on Tuesday 14th April at 11am, with interment in Peebles Cemetery at 11.45am.
